Why two quotes for the same tonnage can differ
A 50 ton crane quoted at $150 an hour and another quoted at $300 an hour for the same job are usually not actually quoting the same thing. Check whether the operator is included, whether the quote covers a minimum number of hours or a full day regardless of how long the lift takes, and whether rigging, fuel, and any permit cost are inside the number or billed separately.

On a job that runs several days, like a transformer swap that takes 5 to 6 days, ask for the standard hourly rate, the overtime rate for anything past a normal shift, and whether a fuel surcharge applies, in writing, before the job starts. Get all three in the same written quote so there is nothing to argue about on the final invoice.
What is not in this table
These ranges cover the crane and operator only. They do not include rigging beyond the basics, a City of Tulsa right-of-way permit fee if your job touches a public street, or engineered lift plans for unusually large or complex lifts. Ask your crane company to confirm what is and is not included before you compare two quotes side by side, otherwise you may be comparing a full-service number against a bare-bones one.
